Deputy PM for Economic Affairs traveled to Sar-e-Pul to inaugurate the Qashqara oil block

Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund traveled to Sar-e-Pul province for inaugurating the Qashqara oil block. In this trip the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, was accompanied by Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Sheikh Shahabuddin Delawar, and some other senior government officials.

At this inauguration ceremony Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund said: "We have come here to inaugurate the Qashqara oil block. This is a good source of revenue generation for the Afghan government. With this, we will start moving towards self-sufficiency and we will be able to add more revenue to the national budget. ”

The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs added: "We are a rich country in terms of mines, we have all kinds of precious mines and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is working hard to extract these mines.”

This oil block has 10 oil wells, 9 of which are operational and will start pumping oil as soon as it opens. Up to 200 tons of oil will be extracted on daily bases from these 9 wells and a revenue of $150 thousand will be added to the state budget.
