Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund visited Nangarhar province

The Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, visited Nangarhar Province on August 19, 2022.

Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, along with provincial officials, visited date orchards, olive factories, woodwork factories, and other projects associated with the Nangarhar Canal. The Deputy PM for Economic Affairs praised the efforts made by those in charge of these projects and gave them the necessary recommendations to improve their work.

The Nangarhar Canal Project is 70 kilometers long and is the largest irrigation and water management project in eastern Afghanistan. This project has an area of 25 thousand hectares and covers 22 thousand hectares of agricultural land and 3 thousand hectares of gardens in Ghani Khel, Momand Dara, Bati Kot, Surkh Rud, and Bihsud districts of Nangarhar province. This project has employed thousands of people both directly and indirectly, and it brings in hundreds of millions of Afghanis to the government's coffers each year.

Numerous fish farms have been created as part of the Nangarhar Canal project, along with date orchards, olive and woodworking companies, and their products are currently available in the markets.

Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund called the Nangarhar Canal Project a national and vital project and appreciated the efforts of the officials behind the initiatives. It is worth mentioning that with the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, the olive production of this project has increased compared to last year.
