On September 2, 2022, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, along with some high-ranking government officials, traveled to Herat to participate in a massive economic gathering organized by Afghan religious scholars, tribal chiefs, businessmen, and investors.

First, Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund welcomed all the guests, including scholars, tribal chiefs, investors, industrialists, national businessmen, and locals of Herat Province. He also expressed his happiness that, after decades of insecurity, the residents of Herat are now completely safe and can conduct their daily business in a peaceful environment.

During his speech at the gathering, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs said that security is the main element in the economic stability and development of a country. Let us thank Allah for this great blessing. With the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the security of all citizens, industrialists, traders, and money changers has been maintained, while during the previous administration, there were various threats to their property, family, and themselves. In addition to failing to ensure public safety, the corrupt officials of the previous administration plundered 750 million dollars from banks; this money belonged to the people of Afghanistan.

He said that with the re-establishment of the IEA, the problems of businessmen and investors in Herat province have been solved, and the remaining problems in some areas will also be solved in the near future. He added, "I am calling on all Afghan cadres, national businessmen, industrialists, and investors to come and work together with their countrymen for the development of the country. Foreigners will not build our country; we must do it. Allah has blessed us with a rich country. "

Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund added that the IEA was able to keep the Afghani stable against foreign currencies while the stable and developed countries of the region failed to maintain the stability of their currencies. As a result of good management, we were able to keep Afghanistan's banking system from collapsing and disintegrating. Efforts are being made by the relevant organizations in the field of publishing Afghani and in the near future, Inshallah, the problems in this field will be solved.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, the IEA has made efforts and requests regarding the release of its frozen money, and this money will be restored to Afghanistan in order to improve the backing of Afghani currency in other countries.

During his speech at this massive economic gathering, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs said that the IEA has reached its set goals in terms of revenue in the past year and has met all the basic needs of the country from its domestic revenue. Since the first days of the re-establishment of the IEA, Afghanistan's economy has been going in a positive direction day by day, and we are still making efforts day and night in this regard. On behalf of a responsible government, I assure the businessmen and investors of Herat province that your economic plan and scheme will be at the top of our operations after evaluation and its implementation will begin as soon as possible.

Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund praised the achievements of the people in this province in the fields of industry, business, investment, and education and encouraged them to strive harder in these fields so that Afghanistan can quickly become self-sufficient.

At this meeting, Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund informed the residents, businessmen, and investors of Herat that in the near future, work on the TAPI project will start from Herat, and the people of Herat will be the first to benefit from the benefits of this project.

He said that in addition to the TAPI project, the fifth phase of the industrial park in Herat Province will also be started. An industrial town will be built in the area of Pul-e-Hashemi, and the work of the Pashdan and Shendand dams will also be restarted in the near future.

The Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, thanked all the scholars, tribal chiefs, businessmen, investors, and officials of Herat province for organizing the gathering.
