Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund traveled to the United Arab Emirates for offering his condolences on the death of former president of the UAE

Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, led a senior government delegation to Abu Dhabi to express his condolences on the death of former UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Mr. Beradar Akhund met with UAE president Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and extended his condolences and sympathies to him and to the people of the UAE.

Meeting with Afghan businessmen

On the second day of his visit, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs met with Afghan businessmen based in the United Arab Emirates, in his meeting, he invited them to their country and assured them of their safety and security. The businessmen also expressed confidence and promised to return to their country and invest there.

During the meeting with Afghan businessmen, Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund listened to their concerns and challenges, and assured them for resolving it quickly.

Meeting with UAE officials

On the third and fourth days of his visit, Mr. Beradar Akhund met with various officials from the UAE and discussed with them the strengthening and expansion of trade relations between both countries.

The Deputy PM for Economic Affairs called on the UAE authorities to resolve the visa issue for Afghans and to resume UAE flights to Afghanistan. He also asked them to issue visas for Afghans to work legally in the UAE. According to him, Afghans go to foreign countries for work through smuggling and hard routes, which often endanger their lives and property. The UAE government promised to do so.

In addition, Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund called on the UAE authorities to release the Afghan prisoners whose crimes are light and to hand over the cases of the convicted prisoners to the Islamic Emirate, so that Afghan government can decide about them.

Meeting with the Executive Vice President of the DP World

On the fifth day of his visit, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, and his accompanying delegation met with the Executive Vice President of DP World, a multinational logistics company, in Dubai. Both sides discussed the development of trade relations and the reconstruction of commercial ports in Afghanistan. By activating these ports, Afghanistan can export its products easily to other countries and can reach the world market.

Return to Kabul

On May 21, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs along with a high-level government delegation returned to Kabul from a five-day fruitful visit to UAE.
