The Regular Meeting of the Economic Commission Was Held
The regular meeting of the Economic Commission was held today, Tuesday, September, 01, 2026, at the Marmarin Palace, chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy PM for Economic Affairs.
The fifth section of the Badghis Provincial Ring Road project was presented to the meeting for discussion. Following a comprehensive assessment, it was decided that, due to shortcomings in the contractor company’s performance, the project contract should be referred to the Procurement Commission for a decision, so that the necessary determination may be made regarding its future.
The meeting also approved a plan for the construction of a commercial market on property owned by the Ministry of Finance in the Mandawi area of Kabul’s First District. Under the plan, an eight-story commercial market will be constructed with an investment of approximately 162 million Afghanis and will accommodate 560 shops.
Furthermore, a designated committee was tasked with separating the activities of cargo and postal service companies in accordance with the applicable laws of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and international standards, and presenting its report to the Economic Commission.
At the end of the meeting, reports on several follow-up matters were also presented, and the relevant institutions were given the necessary instructions.
The above decisions were referred to the Office of the Esteemed Amir al-Mu’minin, may Allah Almighty protect him, for final decision-making.
