Led by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Economic Commission convened its routine meeting at Marmarin Palace on December 24th. During the session, MCC Chinese company introduced a novel underground mining plan for the advancement of Mess Aynak Mine, aiming for an expedited project commencement. Following an exhaustive discussion, the task was delegated to the Inter-ministerial Committee, headed by the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum. This committee is tasked with engaging in technical meetings with the contractor company to scrutinize the proposed plan and subsequently submit a comprehensive report to the Economic Commission. The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum also presented a report on the status of the Qashqari oil and gas block contract, which gained approval after evaluation. The Inter-ministerial Committee, led by the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, was entrusted with attracting investors for the construction of a mazut fuel refinery in the country, adhering to all standards. Addressing infrastructure concerns, the meeting addressed the need for financial resources to complete the remaining 20 percent of the Baharak to Eshkashim district road in Badakhshan province. Following deliberation, it was decided that the Ministry of Public Works should assess the technical and financial aspects of the project and share its report with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Office. The road spans 150 kilometers, with 80 percent of the work already completed. The committee, comprising representatives from Afghanistan Oil and Gas Corporation, Afghanistan National Standards Authority, and the Directorate of National Procurement, was assigned to conduct technical discussions on government agency oil contracts with an estimated value of up to 20 million Afghanis. The resulting report will be submitted to the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Office. Furthermore, the meeting addressed the demands of the people in the eastern provinces concerning precious and semi-precious stones. Following a detailed discussion, the inter-ministerial committee was tasked with conducting a thorough evaluation of the matter and presenting its report to the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Office.
