Economic Commission Approves Ten Investment Proposals Valued at 2.274 Billion Afghanis
The regular meeting of the Economic Commission, chaired by the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, was held today, October 26, 2025 at the Marmarin Palace.
In accordance with the meeting agenda, ten investment proposals amounting to approximately 2.274 billion Afghanis were presented for approval for implementation in various provinces. After comprehensive assessments, all proposals were approved.
These projects include the construction of a two-storey commercial market in Khwaja Ghar District of Takhar Province; a five-storey commercial market in Sheberghan City, the capital of Jawzjan Province; a ten-storey commercial market in Khost City, the capital of Khost Province; a five-storey market in Mehtarlam City, the capital of Laghman Province; an eight-storey commercial market in the 11th District of Kabul City; and another eight-storey commercial market in the 1st District of Kabul City.
Additionally, the proposals include the construction of a 20-storey commercial and residential building in the 10th District of Kabul City, an underground commercial market in the Wach Dand area of Jalalabad City, the capital of Nangarhar Province, and a commercial complex equipped with all necessary facilities at the Islam Qala commercial port in Herat Province.
Another approved project is the establishment of a fruit tree nursery on 150 jeribs of land in Guzara District of Herat Province.
It is noteworthy that the above-mentioned investment proposals were thoroughly reviewed by the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee under the auspices of the Office of the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs and were referred to the Economic Commission for approval.
The decisions taken have been forwarded to the Office of the Esteemed Amir al-Mu’minin, (may Allah protect him), for final approval.
