Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund: Strengthen National Unity and Channel Your Efforts Towards the Development and Prosperity of the Country

The Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, attended a gathering today, February 27, 2025, held in the Loya Jirga Hall under the theme of "Preserving National Unity and Supporting the Islamic System." The event was organized by the High Commission of Shia Community.

During his speech at the gathering, the Deputy PM stated that the Afghan nation is composed of various ethnic groups, languages, sects, and cultures, and this diversity exists solely for mutual recognition. However, unfortunately, before the establishment of the Islamic Emirate's rule, this diversity was frequently misused.

He further explained that the Afghan nation had been unfairly divided into political factions, which undermined their unity on crucial national matters. As a result, the country has yet to experience meaningful national unity. He emphasized that all Afghans had fought together against invaders, actively participated in upholding the principles of Islam and achieving the country’s major objectives, and that the current rule of the Islamic Emirate is the outcome of their collective sacrifices.

 The Deputy PM underscored the significance of preserving national unity for the country’s political and economic progress. He pointed out that nations that have maintained internal unity have achieved great objectives with ease. He reaffirmed that Afghanistan belongs to all Afghans equally, where there is no room for meaningless distinctions based on ethnicity, sect, or minority status. He stated that the Islamic Emirate views Afghanistan’s ethnic diversity as a symbol of national unity and is committed to its preservation.

The Deputy PM urged all citizens not to fall for the propaganda and misinformation spread by the enemies of the country and the system. He stated that such propaganda is intended to create division between Sunni and Shia communities and is exploited solely to serve the malicious interests of outsiders.

Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund assured all citizens that the Islamic Emirate is their government, dedicated to the protection of every Afghan’s wealth, honor, blood, and dignity, considering this its responsibility. He called upon everyone to maintain internal unity, set aside differences, and direct their thoughts and energies toward the country’s development and prosperity.

The gathering, organized by the High Commission of Shia Community in the Loya Jirga Hall, aimed to promote national unity and support for the Islamic system. It was attended by representatives from various segments of society, tribal elders, religious scholars, and youth. The speakers expressed their support for the Islamic system and emphasized the importance of maintaining national unity.
