Today, January 18, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, attended and delivered a speech at the turban-tying ceremony for graduates of Jamia Mazharul Uloom Niazi in Khost Province. The ceremony was also attended by several officials of the Islamic Emirate, prominent scholars, elders, and local residents.

During his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that throughout Islamic history, madrasas have served as active centers for the dissemination of religious knowledge, jihad, the reinforcement of Prophetic ethics, and the preservation of Islamic awareness and identity. He highlighted that these institutions produce individuals regarded as the heirs of the Prophet (peace be upon him), setting standards of ethics and Prophetic conduct for the community.

Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund added that the Islamic tradition of the obligation of jihad emerged authentically from madrasas in Afghanistan. This tradition spread from the madrasas to villages and cities, transforming into a sustained sacred struggle that ultimately inflicted a humiliating defeat on major foreign forces.

The Deputy Prime Minister urged the heads of religious madrasas and the newly graduated scholars to make their preaching and sermons more gentle and appealing. He also advised them to instill in the people a sense of responsibility for the preservation of the Islamic system and national interests, interact with others within the framework of Prophetic ethics, practice what they have learned, and pursue further study and progress in their respective fields.

He emphasized, “It is evident to you that we are in the age of technology. Strive to familiarize yourselves with modern education and needs, so that you can effectively serve religion and the nation, and convey religious awareness and understanding to the people in a modern and comprehensible language.”

Referring to the country's economic situation, he remarked that significant national projects and initiatives are currently underway across Afghanistan. He noted the expansion of trade relations with other countries, the identification of appropriate markets for domestic products, and ongoing work on strategic national plans for better management of the Emirate's resources.

In conclusion, Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund congratulated all the graduates and their families and urged them to utilize their knowledge for the service of religion, the country, and the noble people of Afghanistan.
