Speech by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs at the Inauguration of Life Pearl Pharmaceutical Factory

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Allah Almighty says: “And whoever saves one life, it is as if he had saved all of humanity.” To all esteemed attendees,

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

May you all be in the best of health.

It is a joyous day as we gather here once again for the inauguration of a new pharmaceutical factory, contributing to the expansion of healthcare services and facilities in Afghanistan.

It is clear to everyone that the health sector is one of the most important sectors. Medicines are directly linked to human health. Quality medicines guarantee a healthy society, while poor-quality medicines are a poison to health. Their production is a reckless act endangering human lives and, from an Islamic perspective, an unlawful act. Therefore, it is crucial to prioritize quality over quantity.

I hope this pharmaceutical factory will not only have a positive impact on the health and well-being of our citizens but also significantly contribute to the country’s economic growth. It will reduce unemployment to some extent, increase domestic production, and decrease reliance on imported medicines.

With the commencement of this factory’s operations, our citizens will have access to essential medicines, partially fulfilling domestic needs through local production. This will not only reduce the costs associated with importing medicines but also enhance the security of our pharmaceutical supplies.

The establishment of this factory will create hundreds of direct and indirect job opportunities, reducing unemployment and contributing to relative social welfare.

I urge the factory owners to produce high-quality medicines adhering to international standards while considering the actual needs of the country. I hope that once domestic demand is met, this factory will consistently export its products to other countries.

Praise be to Allah, our country is at peace, administrative corruption has significantly decreased, and the necessary conditions for large, medium, and small investments are in place. Once again, I call upon all traders and investors to invest in our beloved country. This will allow you to start your legitimate businesses and significantly contribute to the country’s economic growth.

I request the esteemed officials of the factory to fulfill this national responsibility in the health sector diligently. On behalf of the Islamic Emirate, I assure you of our full cooperation whenever needed.

In conclusion, I would like to thank the leadership, officials, and all involved parties of the Ministry of Public Health for their necessary cooperation in the establishment of this pharmaceutical factory. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the factory officials and all Afghans on this significant milestone in medicine production.

May Allah Almighty grant you success in all your endeavors.

Thank you for your attention.
