In 1404, feasibility studies for dam projects will begin in several provinces

A regular meeting of the Economic Commission, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, was held at the Marmarin Palace. As per the agenda, discussions were held on the presented topics.
In this meeting, the Ministry of Water and Energy presented the feasibility studies and surveys for the construction of the Gorumbi Dam in Maidan Wardak, the Qara Teri Dam in Balkh, the Shna Nari Dam in Kandahar, and the Wach Nari Dam in Paktia. After comprehensive evaluation, it was decided to include these projects in the budget for the current 1404 fiscal year.
The meeting also discussed the topics of the Kandahar Bypass Highway, the construction of the Arghestan Dam, the 90-kilometer electricity transmission line from Kabul to Jalalabad, and the completion of the Sheikh Mesri Substation in Jalalabad city. After detailed discussions, it was decided that the revenue generated from the lead and zinc mines in the Yakawlang district of Bamyan province should be allocated to these public welfare projects through the creation of a special code by the Ministry of Finance.
Additionally, the meeting discussed the land acquisition, transfer, and settlement processes for various projects, including the 10 MW solar power plant in the Surobi district of Kabul, the remaining work on the 500-kilovolt Dasht-e-Alwan transmission line, the construction of a new substation in Buth Khak, the extension of the 220-kilovolt transmission line at the Chamtala substation, and the extension of the 220-kilovolt transmission line at the Arghandi substation. After the discussion, the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock was tasked with completing the remaining 20% of the land settlement and acquisition for these projects, and the Ministry of Finance was instructed to allocate the budget for land acquisition for these projects in the 1404 fiscal year.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the investment proposal for a 40 MW solar power plant in the Nangarhar Hesar Shahi Industrial Park was approved. The private sector will invest 50.69 million dollars in this project.
