The Economic Commission Approves the "Bam Herat" Recreational Complex Project in Herat Province

The regular meeting of the Economic Commission, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, was held at the Marmarin Palace. According to the agenda of the meeting, the proposed project for the construction of the "Bam Herat" recreational complex by the private sector in Herat Province, the distribution and sale of state-owned scrap metals to iron-melting factories, the contract for the extraction of gold from the Weka Dur gold mine in Badakhshan province, and several other follow-up topics were discussed.
After detailed discussions, the proposal for the construction of the "Bam Herat" recreational complex by the private sector in Herat Province was approved. According to the plan, the private sector will invest over one billion Afghanis in the construction of the complex, which is expected to create job opportunities for approximately four thousand people.
Additionally, in this meeting, the Ministry of Finance was tasked with settling outstanding accounts with the iron-melting companies, collecting debts from companies that owe to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, and paying debts to companies to whom the Islamic Emirate owes. The Ministry of Finance was also directed to implement the orders of the esteemed Amir-ul-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him) regarding the distribution and sale of state-owned scrap metals.
The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum was also instructed to declare the previous bidding process for the extraction and processing of gold at the Weka Dur mine in Badakhshan province as void and to conduct a new bidding process for this mine. The new bidding process should select a competent company.
At the end of the meeting, reports on several follow-up topics were presented and approved by the Economic Commission, with necessary recommendations for implementation sent to the relevant ministries and agencies.
