The regular meeting of the Economic Commission, chaired by the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, was held on September 20, 2025 at the Marmarin Palace. In this meeting, the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum presented the draft policy on mineral processing and exports for discussion, which was approved following comprehensive deliberations.

The objective of this policy is to facilitate mineral processing in line with national and international standards; attract domestic and foreign investment in the field of mineral processing inside the country; establish effective coordination among relevant institutions for mineral processing and exports; ensure easier access for mineral traders to regional and global markets; and create employment opportunities within the country.

Additionally, the meeting reviewed the report of the designated committee regarding the design of laboratory complexes at key national border ports. After a thorough assessment, the report was approved. According to the plan, facilities for nine ministries and agencies have been considered in these laboratory complexes, with each laboratory to be constructed on 40 jeribs of land.

The Economic Commission also discussed several other issues during the meeting and made the necessary decisions in that regard.

The above-mentioned resolutions were forwarded to the Office of the Esteemed Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him), for final approval.
