The Economic Commission Approves the Draft Revenue Policy for the Mining Sector

The regular meeting of the Economic Commission, chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, was held today, April 20, 2025, at the Marmarin Palace.
During the meeting, the draft revenue policy for the mining sector was presented for discussion. After a comprehensive analysis and with consideration of the proposed amendments, the Economic Commission approved the draft.
Additionally, the proposal for the construction of a commercial market in Mazar-e-Sharif, the center of Balkh province, with an investment of 80 million Afghanis, was also presented for discussion. Following a thorough evaluation and with the incorporation of suggested amendments, the proposal was approved by the Economic Commission. According to the plan, the commercial market will be constructed with six floors, including a parking area, and will comprise 56 shops along with other necessary facilities.
The meeting also reviewed the proposed procedure for establishing liquefied gas facilities and discussed the development of appropriate solutions to prevent violations by cargo and postal companies. Separate committees were assigned to conduct comprehensive evaluations of these issues, and it was recommended that they submit their reports to the Economic Commission by the specified deadlines.
At the end of the meeting, follow-up reports on several agenda items were also presented. These reports were approved in accordance with the guidance of the Economic Commission and were recommended for implementation to the relevant ministries and institutions.
All approved decisions were forwarded to the esteemed office of the Amir al-Mu’minin (May Allah protect him) for final endorsement.
