Construction of the Spin Zar Commercial Township in Takhar Province Launched

Today, on September 01, 2025, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, inaugurated the construction works of the Spin Zar Commercial Township in Takhar Province.
At the outset, the Deputy PM prayed for paradise for the martyrs and speedy recovery for the injured in last night’s earthquake in the eastern provinces and expressed condolences to their families. He expressed his solidarity with the earthquake-affected families in their grief and stated that all relevant officials of the Islamic Emirate are actively engaged and have reached the affected areas using available resources.
Subsequently, at the inauguration ceremony of the Spin Zar Commercial Township construction works in Takhar, the Deputy PM emphasized that alongside the public sector, private sector investment at all levels is a crucial component of national economic growth, which the Islamic Emirate fully supports. Referring to the importance of investment in the country, he stated that investment in service and productive infrastructure is regarded as one of the fundamental drivers of economic growth and development. He added that investment expands production capacity and exports, develops industry, creates employment opportunities, and overall increases national revenue.
The Deputy PM underscored the significance of constructing this large commercial township in Takhar, stating that it will have a positive impact on the economic and social well-being of the people.
On behalf of the Islamic Emirate, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund assured all businessmen and investors that their challenges will be addressed in a timely manner and that necessary cooperation will be provided in all areas.
It is worth noting that the Spin Zar Commercial Township in Takhar Province includes markets for grains, fruits, onions and potatoes, construction materials, and pharmaceuticals, with a total investment of 2.45 billion Afghanis through public-private partnership. The township will be built on 60 jeribs of land, with the grain market already inaugurated today for use, while construction works for the remaining four markets have commenced. In total, the Spin Zar Commercial Township will host more than 2,000 shops, creating thousands of job opportunities for citizens.
Additionally, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund inaugurated private sector projects in Takhar for car sales, car wash facilities, carpentry shops, and construction company offices. These projects involve an investment of 180 million Afghanis.
