Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund Visits Nuristan Province
The Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, traveled to Nuristan Province today, Monday, August 3, 2026, where he expressed his sympathy and solidarity with those affected by the recent floods in the province. He prayed that the deceased be granted the highest place in Paradise and wished the injured a swift recovery.
Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund stated that, during the initial days following the disaster, officials from the relevant institutions of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan had reached the affected areas and utilized all available resources to rescue the affected citizens. The Deputy PM assured the victims that the Islamic Emirate would continue to support them by making full use of all available resources. He added that the officials of the Islamic Emirate are servants of the people and respond promptly to the needs and hardships of the public.
Representatives of the private sector also accompanied the delegation during the visit and provided financial assistance to the flood-affected families.
The religious scholars, elders, and affected residents of Nuristan Province sincerely expressed their gratitude to the Islamic Emirate for not forgetting them during this difficult time and for sending government officials to the area to convey their condolences and support. The local people described the Islamic Emirate as their own government and the government of the people, reaffirming their support for it. They also shared their concerns and demands, and the Deputy PM assured them that their issues would be addressed.
