Plans for Construction of Commercial Markets in Nangarhar and Takhar Provinces Deemed Approvable

The regular meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee was held on August 5, 2025 at the Marmarin Palace. During the meeting, a proposal for the construction of an underground market on municipality land in Jalalabad City, Nangarhar Province, was submitted for approval. Following comprehensive discussions, the proposal was deemed approvable. According to the plan, the private sector will invest 95 million Afghanis in constructing this underground market, which will include 183 shops.

Additionally, a proposal for the construction of a commercial market on municipality land in Khwaja Ghar District of Takhar Province was also presented for approval during the session. After extensive discussions, the proposal was approved. Under this plan, the private sector will invest 48 million Afghanis in the development of this commercial market, which will consist of 104 shops.

Furthermore, the committee reviewed a proposal for the construction of another commercial market on municipality land in Taloqan City, Takhar Province. A designated committee was assigned the task of conducting a comprehensive assessment of the proposal’s financial and technical aspects and to submit its report to the Inter-Ministerial Investment Committee within the specified timeframe.
