Procurement Commission Approves 16 Projects Worth More Than AFN 7 Billion

The regular meeting of the Procurement Commission, chaired by the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, was held today (Wednesday), October 7, 2026, at the Marmarin Palace. A total of 34 projects were presented for discussion.
Following comprehensive discussions, 16 projects worth more than AFN 7 billion were approved, while the necessary amendments to nine other projects were also approved. Five projects were referred for re-bidding for the second time, and three projects were reinstated. The contract for one project was terminated due to delays in the implementation of the works, and the company was referred to the Debarment Committee.
The approved and amended projects include the concrete paving of the parking area at the Islam Qala Border Customs in Herat; installation of a water pipeline from Qargha Dam to the Badam Bagh Research Garden in Kabul Province; construction of an 11-kilometer asphalt road from Abazak to Siah Bini village in Mohammad Agha District of Logar Province; rehabilitation of a 71-kilometer road from Broghil in Wakhan District of Badakhshan Province to Bzai Gonbad in the Little Pamir; provision and procurement of technological equipment required by the Ministry of Transport and Aviation; construction of a terminal in eastern Kabul; construction of general hospitals in Kahmard District of Bamyan, Lawlash District of Faryab, and Argun District of Paktika; construction of the 350-bed Bost Hospital in Helmand Province; procurement of medical equipment and electricity-related equipment; construction of a road from Ghazi Stadium to Cement Khana in Kabul; road construction in the Company area; and construction of the second-lane road from Spin Kali to Qala-e Wazir.
The approved projects will be financed by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
