Condolence Message from Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund on the Martyrdom of Maulana Mujib Ur Rahman Ansari

"مِّنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ ۖ فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَىٰ نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ ۖ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلًا" (Surah Al-Ahzab: 23)

With profound sadness, I received the news of the martyrdom of Maulana Mujib Ur Rahman Ansari, a resolute and courageous religious scholar, who was brutally attacked and killed during Friday prayer by the enemies of Islam and our nation.

From the pulpit of the Eidgah Mosque in Herat, Shaheed Maulana Mujib Ur Rahman Ansari consistently upheld and defended the truth, fearlessly speaking out despite numerous threats and challenging circumstances.

I strongly condemn this tragic and painful incident and extend my deepest condolences to his family, relatives, friends, and all our countrymen. I pray to Allah Almighty to grant him Jannat al-Firdous.

The enemies of Islam and truth aim to silence the voice of righteousness and disrupt the security of our people with their futile actions. However, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan will thwart these enemies of our faith and nation, and the perpetrators behind this heinous act will be brought to justice. Insha'Allah.
