Dear compatriots,

Mine is a bad legacy of years of war in Afghanistan. This bloody legacy has claimed the lives of thousands of Afghans and left thousands more permanently disabled. There is still fear of landmines everywhere and landmines are still endangering the lives of our countrymen.

Fortunately, with the end of the occupation of Afghanistan, the war ended in the whole country and now the country is ruled by a single central system of the Islamic Emirate. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan appreciates the efforts of all domestic and foreign domineers and calls on the international community to work with Afghans to address the challenges posed by the 40 years disaster in Afghanistan, including landmines in villages, roads and deserts.

Domestic and foreign domineers traveled from village to village and even house to house in extremely difficult conditions, looking for mines in the mountains and deserts. On the occasion of International Mine Action Day, I would like to thank all the domineers and related agencies who have done and continue to do so in Afghanistan.

I hope that one day Afghanistan will be completely safe from the threat of landmines. Thousands of domineers have been exposed to landmines in the country over the past four decades, hundreds of the have lost their lives or injured. I wish paradise for the martyrs and offer my condolences to their families.

I assure the demining agencies and domineers active in Afghanistan that the Islamic Emirate stands by them, supports them and cooperates with them to the best of their ability in resolving the problems.
