Speech of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund during his visit to the earthquake-affected people of Samangan Province:

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Respected Governor of Samangan Province, honorable officials of various departments of the Islamic Emirate, esteemed elders, guests, and all attendees —
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.
May Allah Almighty grant you success in all your affairs.

Before anything else, I pray for Jannat al-Firdaws for our fellow countrymen who were martyred in the recent earthquake that struck the northern provinces of Samangan and Balkh. I also pray for the quick and full recovery of the injured, and for the bereaved families, I seek abundant reward and divine compensation from the Almighty Allah. I share in their sorrow in this great tragedy.

Dear compatriots,

Unfortunately, before our nation could recover from the national tragedy caused by the recent earthquake in the eastern provinces of Afghanistan, another devastating earthquake occurred in Samangan and Balkh provinces, once again resulting in the martyrdom and injury of many of our countrymen and causing extensive financial losses. We are deeply saddened by this painful incident, and in this difficult time, we stand beside our people.

The earthquake in Samangan Province is indeed a heartbreaking event. I am aware of the conditions of the victims and the bereaved families. Once again, I pray for Jannat al-Firdaws for all the martyrs, for the injured to recover swiftly, and for their families to be granted patience and strength.

As you are aware, the relevant institutions of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan have already begun their efforts to provide timely assistance and to address the damages caused by this disaster.

I assure all the affected families that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, within the limits of its available resources, is continuously working to address your challenges. Insha’Allah, urgent assistance will be provided, particularly concerning shelter and other essential needs.

It is appropriate here to express my gratitude to all charitable organizations, businessmen, and fellow citizens who have extended assistance to the earthquake-affected families during this difficult time, shared in their sorrow, and responded promptly to their urgent needs to some extent.

I also call upon all affluent citizens, businessmen, and international charitable organizations to extend immediate support and assistance to the victims and affected families of this painful incident and to stand with them in this time of distress.

Finally, once again, I express my condolences to all the families affected by this tragedy and pray that Allah Almighty grants them patience, endurance, and steadfastness during this sorrowful period.
