A regular meeting of the Economic Commission, chaired by the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, was held today, Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Marmarin Palace.

The agenda of the meeting included the reactivation of the Shorab Civil Airport in Helmand Province and its cold storage facility, implementation of the rotation law for cargo vehicles, timeline for land installment payments in industrial parks, categorization of industrial park lands by province, and the provision of tax exemptions for investors making new investments in Afghanistan to create employment opportunities for the local population.

After discussion, committees were assigned to conduct a comprehensive review of these matters and submit their reports to the Economic Commission on the specified dates.

Additionally, follow-up reports on several other issues were presented at the end of the meeting. These reports were approved, and the relevant authorities were instructed to implement the recommendations.

The above decisions have been forwarded to the office of His Excellency the Amir al-Mu’minin (may Allah protect him) for final approval.
