Plan for Gulbahar Residential and Commercial Township Approved in Principle

A meeting was held today, Saturday, April 25, 2026, at the Marmarin Palace under the chairmanship of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy PM for Economic Affairs. During the meeting, the proposal for the construction of the Gulbahar Residential and Commercial Township was discussed by the relevant institutions. The plan was approved in principle, taking into account urban development and economic value, and a committee was appointed under the leadership of the Deputy PM for Economic Affair to carry out technical studies.

The committee was assigned to conduct detailed assessments on all technical, economic, social, and environmental aspects and to submit its report to the esteemed office of the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs within three months.

For the construction of the Gulbahar Residential and Commercial Township, the private sector has expressed interest in investing approximately 8 billion US dollars. The project will be developed over 11,000 jeribs of land and, in addition to providing housing for tens of thousands of citizens, will create thousands of job opportunities.
