A regular meeting of the Technical Committee of the Economic Commission was held on June 22, 2026, at the Marmarin Palace. During the meeting, discussions were held on the export of the medicinal plant asafetida to foreign countries and the resolution of existing challenges in this sector. Following the discussions, it was decided that the designated committee, led by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, should conduct a comprehensive study on the matter and submit its report, along with specific recommendations, to the Economic Commission.

Asafetida is among Afghanistan’s medicinal plants that are exported in large quantities to foreign countries, and many citizens across the country are engaged in its cultivation and harvesting.

The meeting also received the report of the designated committee regarding the status of non-ferrous metals in the country. The Technical Committee deemed the report approvable. The report was subsequently referred to the Economic Commission for final decision-making.
