A high-level delegation led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund departs for Uzbekistan

A high-ranking delegation of the Islamic Emirate, led by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, departed from Kabul today, February 22, 2025 for a two-day official visit to Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

The delegation includes Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Mullah Hidayatullah Badri, Acting Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mullah Hamidullah Akhundzada, Acting Minister of Industry and Commerce Alhaj Nooruddin Azizi, Acting Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock Maulvi Ataullah Omari, Governor of Da Afghanistan Bank Alhaj Noor Ahmad Agha, Deputy Minister of Revenue and Customs at the Ministry of Finance Mufti Abdul Mateen Saeed, and representatives from sectoral institutions, who are accompanying the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs.

The purpose of this visit is to strengthen political, economic, trade, and transit relations between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan and to attract Uzbek investors to various sectors in Afghanistan. Both sides will discuss and engage in negotiations on these matters.
