Speech by Mullah Baradar Akhund at the Inauguration of Nila Bagh Residential Project

07/04/2024

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful!

Distinguished government officials, esteemed representatives of the People's Republic of China, esteemed private sector representatives, honored guests, and all participants,

May peace, mercy, and blessings be upon you all.

It brings me great joy to be present at today's inauguration of a significant construction endeavor.

Praise be to Allah, today marks the commencement of a project aimed at constructing 1400 standardized residential units within the well-planned town of Nila Bagh, marking a significant stride in addressing the country's housing needs.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has undertaken tangible measures in executing construction ventures alongside other vital infrastructure initiatives, such as the ongoing development of New Kabul City's second section, phase 1, among others. Moreover, there are plans underway to initiate additional construction projects, progressively alleviating citizens' housing concerns, by the grace of Allah.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is steadfast in its commitment to fostering investment opportunities for both domestic and foreign investors, not only in construction but also across key sectors like industry, agriculture, electricity, and trade. Constructing residential complexes is pivotal to urban development and nation-building efforts, offering contemporary living standards to our people.

Thanks to the concerted efforts of the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, today marks the inception of the Nila Bagh project, undertaken in collaboration with the People's Republic of China. This endeavor will provide hundreds of citizens with standardized housing units and contribute to the establishment of a model township in Kabul.

The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan extends its gratitude to the People's Republic of China for initiating the practical implementation of the Nila Bagh project and looks forward to collaborative efforts on critical issues like regional connectivity.

We call upon the government and investors of the People's Republic of China to capitalize on the abundant investment opportunities available here, thereby fortifying economic and trade ties between Kabul and Beijing. Rest assured, the Islamic Emirate stands ready to provide all necessary support and facilitation to domestic and foreign investors.

I urge the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing and the Kabul Municipality to swiftly address construction-related challenges in the capital, enabling the commencement of construction activities. This will not only provide employment opportunities to hundreds but also foster the growth of the infrastructure sector.

In conclusion, I extend warm Eid greetings to all citizens and participants of this gathering.

Thank you for your attention.
