4,000 Jeribs of Land Allocated for the Development of Abu Nasr Farahi Port

The regular meeting of the Economic Commission, chaired by the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, was held today, July 23, 2025 at the Marmarin Palace.
In accordance with the meeting agenda, the proposal regarding the construction of infrastructure at Abu Nasr Farahi Port in Farah Province and the transfer of land for vehicle unloading and loading operations, as well as for the overall expansion of the port, was presented.
Following discussions, it was decided that 4,000 jeribs of land shall be allocated at Abu Nasr Farahi Port for unloading, loading, and for the use of relevant government agencies. The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing was instructed to prepare the master plan and design for the expansion of the port and to submit it to the relevant institutions for implementation within the specified timeframe.
Additionally, the Ministry of Finance was directed to include the port development project in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year, utilizing the shares of the respective ministries.
The meeting also reviewed a proposal from the private sector to construct a cold storage facility and juice processing factory on land belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock in the center of Ghazni Province. After comprehensive discussions, the proposal was approved.
According to the plan, a cold storage facility with a capacity of 5,000 metric tons and a juice factory will be established on 35 jeribs of land, with an investment of 140 million Afghanis.
These decisions have been submitted to the esteemed Office of the Amir al-Mu’minin for final approval.
