First Deputy PM Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund met with the Iranian delegation

Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, First Deputy PM, met with a high-level delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran at the Chahar Chenar Palace. The two sides discussed political, educational, and economic issues, the resumption of stalled projects, and the situation of Afghan refugees in Iran.

The Iranian delegation said that Afghans and countries in the region should take full advantage of the situation in Afghanistan. The head of the Iranian delegation, Hassan Kazemi, said that Afghanistan had been occupied by the United States and its allies for the past 20 years and is now fortunately in the hands of its owners.

Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, First Deputy PM, said that Afghanistan and Iran have many historical and cultural commonalities, and they want to move forward on the basis of these commonalities. He assured the Iranian delegation that they would not allow anyone to use Afghan soil against Iran or harm relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed the situation of Afghan refugees in Iran, and Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund thanked Iran for hosting Afghan refugees and stressed the need to strengthen ties.

The Afghan side welcomed the Iranian delegation, and the head of the Iranian delegation, Hassan Kazemi, thanked the IEA for its diplomatic protocol.
