Emphasis on Full Implementation of the Economic Agreement between Kabul and Tehran

Today, April 9, 2025, a scheduled follow-up meeting of the Joint Technical Committee between Afghanistan and Iran was held at Marmarin Palace to ensure the full implementation of the bilateral economic agreement signed between Kabul and Tehran.
The session, aligned with its agenda, covered a wide range of topics including the enhancement of bilateral trade, resolving existing transit challenges and providing necessary facilities, establishing joint cooperation in mechanizing Afghanistan’s agricultural sector, implementing decisions made in the transport sector, encouraging investment in Afghanistan’s mining sector, and further easing procedures in customs operations.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to fully implementing the agreement and agreed to continue these follow-up meetings to monitor and advance progress.
It is worth mentioning that the economic agreement between Kabul and Tehran consists of 92 articles covering trade, transit, transportation, agriculture, mining, and several other areas. The practical implementation of many of its provisions has already resulted in significant improvements in trade volume between the two countries.
