Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund: A secure Afghanistan is considered a major economic and political opportunity for all; no one should turn opportunities into threats
The Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, today, December 4, 2025, participated in the turban-tying ceremony of the graduates of the first cohort of Al-Jami‘ah Al-Islamiyyah Darul Uloom Kandahar in Kandahar Province.
Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund described Islamic madrasas as important pillars of social reform, religious knowledge, jihad, intellectual training, and the Islamic movement, and stated that, alongside the general public, scholars also made countless sacrifices to bring an end to the twenty-year occupation of Afghanistan, and that as a result of these sacrifices, an Islamic system has now been established in the country. He called upon scholars to invite people to the right path with gentle speech by making use of religious wisdom, and not to reproach anyone or speak harshly.
He further added that the Islamic Emirate believes in political and economic participation for the comprehensive development of the country. He said that this participation has been strengthened over the past four years and is based on the consultations and views of scholars, academic figures, and professional staff.
According to him, in comparative terms the current political authority in Afghanistan has been maintained in a more stable and balanced manner than before; within the framework of the system and government, parallel political currents, opposing directions, and actions threatening national decisions have been eliminated. On the other hand, administrative participation, administrative transparency, the development of economic infrastructure, the provision of public services, and national satisfaction have increased.
The Deputy PM called on all countries to appropriately benefit from the potential capacity and strong resolve of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan through active regional and international engagement. He stated: “A secure Afghanistan is considered a major economic and political opportunity for all; no one should turn opportunities into threats.”
He assured all citizens that no one’s rights or entrusted assets will be violated by the Islamic Emirate, and that all citizens should stand alongside their government in ensuring the country’s security, development, and reconstruction.
In conclusion, Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund congratulated the 1,000 graduates of Al-Jami‘ah Al-Islamiyyah Darul Uloom Kandahar and their families, and urged them to act upon their knowledge and convey it to the people.
