Agreement Signed for the Construction of Standard Laboratory Complexes in the Capital and Nine Ports

In the presence of the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, a contract worth more than $46 million was signed today, Wednesday, May 13, 2026, between the Standards and Quality Authority and an international company for the construction and equipping of laboratory complexes.

According to the agreement, which was signed at the Government Media and Information Center between the Head of the Standards and Quality Authority, Mawlawi Faizullah Tamim, and the representative of an Indian international company (TCRC), the company will, over a five-year period, construct standard laboratory complexes in the capital and nine ports of the country, provide and install advanced equipment, repair existing equipment, and introduce foreign specialists aimed at enhancing the professional capacity of the authority’s employees.

Under this agreement, domestic and international training programs will also be organized for the professional staff of the Standards and Quality Authority, and the process of obtaining internationally recognized quality certification approvals from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) will also be implemented.
