Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, made a visit to Nangarhar Province on January 16th. Accompanied by the Minister of Public Works, Mullah Muhammad Isa Sani, and various government officials, he addressed a gathering in the provincial capital, attended by ulemas, tribal leaders, businessmen, and provincial officials. During his speech, the Deputy PM emphasized the Islamic Emirate's commitment to fostering Afghanistan's development and industrialization. He highlighted the goal of generating domestic electricity to fuel the country's economic growth. Mullah Baradar Akhund also announced the Islamic Emirate's focus on constructing the second road of the Kabul-Jalalabad highway to boost trade and transit, with the Minister of Public Works set to present the plan to Honorable Amir-ul-Mumineen Sheikh-ul-Hadith Hibatullah Akhundzadah for approval. Furthermore, the Deputy PM shared plans to decrease customs tariffs on talc exports, aiming to support traders in Nangarhar.
