A thorough discussion on how to control fuel prices throughout the upcoming winter took place in a special meeting chaired by Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs.

Following a thorough discussion, it was decided that the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock would permit firewood that had previously been harvested from the forests of the provinces of Nuristan, Kunar, Nangarhar, Khost, Paktia, and Paktika to enter the market in order to alleviate the countrymen's wintertime problems.

In this regard, it was recommended to the Ministry of Agriculture that they not permit anybody to cut down the woods in any form, and if someone is found guilty of this act, they will be handed over to the law.

In this meeting, under the leadership of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, the Ministry of Finance and the Kabul Municipality were given the task of preparing a scheme to control coal prices in winter and presenting it to the next meeting.

The Ministry of Finance, Industry, and Trade, as well as Kabul Municipality, have been given the responsibility of collaborating with the private sector and the Afghanistan Oil and Gas Corporation and making the necessary decisions in this regard in order to control the price of liquid gas and have precautionary storage during the upcoming winter.
