The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, actively participated in the gathering dedicated to announcing an independent agency for state-owned corporations. This decision aligns with the decree of Honorable Amir-ul-Mumineen Sheikh-ul-Hadith Hibatullah Akhundzadah, aiming to improve the management of state-owned corporations, boost national revenues, and prevent monopolies. In the assembly attended by cabinet members, state-owned corporation officials, and other government officials, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund emphasized the significance of establishing this institution. He stated, "Government corporations in Afghanistan were highly effective a few decades ago, contributing up to 60 percent of the national budget. Their services surpassed those of the private sector, handling tasks with professionalism and strength that the private sector might have struggled with. Unfortunately, over the past 40 years, along with other parts of Afghanistan, government corporations faced challenges that were seldom discussed.”  Mullah Baradar Akhund highlighted the Ministry of Finance of the Islamic Emirate efforts to reactivate many state-owned corporations, resulting in a significant increase in their revenues. He attributed the past challenges to improper management, emphasizing the global practice of governance through committees and boards for both government and non-government entities. The Deputy PM hailed the creation of an independent agency for state-owned corporations as a key achievement, clarifying that, per the decree of Honorable Amir-ul-Mumineen Sheikh-ul-Hadith Hibatullah Akhundzadah, all government corporations will now operate under a single agency for improved efficiency and positive outcomes. This agency, established based on the 21st decree of Honorable Amir-ul-Mumineen Sheikh-ul-Hadith Hibatullah Akhundzadah, aims to enhance coordination between state-owned corporations, improve management, and eliminate monopolies. Participants in the gathering foresee the agency playing a crucial role in the economic development of the country, anticipating an increase in the national income level as a result.
