Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund’s Speech in Ghor
In the name of Allah, the most merciful and compassionate.
Government officials and the people of Ghor, may God’s peace and blessings be upon you.
The recent floods in Afghanistan have caused significant personal and financial losses to citizens across various provinces. Many families have been displaced, agricultural lands submerged, and infrastructure such as bridges, culverts, and roads destroyed, complicating travel. Despite these challenges, the Islamic Emirate has promptly provided assistance to those affected by the floods.
We have travelled to Baghlan province with the aim of offering aid, expressing solidarity, and ensuring better coordination among aid and rescue agencies to support the affected citizens. We have established aid collection and distribution committees to ensure timely delivery of assistance. Beyond Baghlan, we have extended our support to flood-affected citizens in Faryab, Takhar, Badakhshan, and several other provinces.
We extend our heartfelt condolences on this tragedy. The Islamic Emirate stands with you, dear citizens, in this time of great sorrow, and we assure you that additional assistance will be provided alongside what has already been delivered.
We pray for Jannat al-Firdous for the martyrs of this tragedy, patience for their relatives, and a speedy recovery for the injured by the grace of Allah.
All government officials have been instructed to collect aid and distribute it transparently to the deserving and vulnerable citizens.
We are deeply grateful to all citizens who have assisted the flood victims according to their means and pray that Allah rewards them abundantly.
In conclusion, we assure you that the Islamic Emirate will continue to support you until the existing problems are resolved and your lives return to normal.
