Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund Inaugurates Five Projects Valued at Approximately 43 Billion Afghanis
During his visit to Herat on April 28, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, inaugurated five major projects valued at approximately 43 billion Afghanis.
On the first day in Herat Province, Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund inaugurated the manufacturing facilities of Etook Pharma and Afghan Medicine, along with the non-alcoholic beverage production factory of Shams Cola in the morning. Encouraging national businessmen and investors to invest in the country, he emphasized adherence to quality standards to maintain the Islamic Emirate's priority on quality and standards.
Etook Pharma's drug manufacturing factory, with an investment of around 720 million Afghanis, and Afghan Medicine's facility, with an investment of about 1 billion and 150 million Afghanis, are currently producing various medicines, significantly addressing the province's healthcare needs. Additionally, the Shams Cola non-alcoholic beverage manufacturing factory, requiring an investment of approximately 600 million Afghanis, produces a variety of beverages.
Later in the day, Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund proceeded to Karukh district of Herat province to inaugurate the remaining works of the Pashdan Dam, highlighting its importance for Herat province's development. He assured the people of Herat of the Islamic Emirate's commitment to completing the project with high standards and within the designated timeline.
On April 29, Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund visited Pashtun Zarghoon district of Herat to inaugurate the construction of the Herat-Ghor road, emphasizing the significance of this road for regional connectivity. He noted the commencement of highway reconstruction across the country and highlighted the importance of the Herat-Ghor road, which connects Herat, Ghor, Bamyan, Daykundi and Maidan Wardag provinces to Kabul through land transport.
These projects have provided employment opportunities for thousands of citizens and are expected to alleviate challenges in water management, agriculture, electricity, healthcare, and transportation upon completion.
Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund concluded his visit and returned to Kabul in the afternoon of April 29.
