First Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund met with Ali Akbar Pasnani, Special Representative/Ambassador of the Aga Khan Foundation in Afghanistan. Mullah Beradar Akhund praised the work of this foundation in Afghanistan and added that they should expand their activities and services not only in cities but also in districts and rural areas. Mr. Pasnani stated, that they have been working with the Afghan people in the fields of education, health, and other areas for the past 20 years, and are still attempting to continue their work and services.

The Agha Khan Foundation is talking about the resumption of operations in Afghanistan at a time when most of the development work in Afghanistan has stopped since the recent political upheaval. However, officials of the Agha Khan Foundation says that security is better than ever and they can continue their activities with confidence.
