Under the leadership of the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the regular meeting of the Economic Commission was held at Marmarin Palace and topics listed on the agenda were discussed. Following a thorough discussion, it was decided that the concerned ministries and departments should expedite their work to finish the remaining tasks of Bakhshabad Dam in Farah and Kamal Khan Dam in Nimruz province. In addition, the Ministry of Finance provided a report on the execution of the decree by His Excellency Amir Ul Momineen Sheikh Sahib which aimed to activate various sources of income. The report was approved and will be shared with the senior leadership. The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Finance have been instructed to collaborate closely to enhance revenue streams. Furthermore, all ministries and government departments have been advised to improve their policies for bolstering income sources and share them with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs. Furthermore, a committee comprising of the General Directorate of Intelligence, the Ministries of Industry and Commerce, Finance, Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, led by the Food and Drug Authority, has been tasked with developing extensive measures to prohibit the supply of substandard and illicit food and medication in Afghanistan. The Economic Commission has urgently requested the committee to present its proposed procedures. All food and drug businesses and traders are required to adhere to the regulations set by the Food and Drug Authority within 45 days of this decision. Any failure to comply will result in legal consequences. Also, a technical committee, led by Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat, has been assigned to travel to the Qosh Tepa and Darzab districts of Jawzjan province to assess the electricity supply project for these areas. The committee will closely monitor the situation and present a report to the Economic Commission for a final decision. Lastly, the Economic Commission approved the contracts for public and private partnership plans in the areas around Behzad Cinema and behind the Qazi Plaza in the third Macroryan. The conditions of the proposals submitted through open bidding were duly considered.
