Press Release from the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs on the newly established economic corridor between Afghanistan and China!

Sep 23, 2022

Afghanistan has a special value in the region from a geographical point of view. This country has assumed the position of a bridge between Central Asia and South Asia; therefore, the economic and trade relations of Afghanistan with neighboring and regional countries are not only valuable for Afghanistan, but also very important and beneficial for neighboring and regional countries. The lack of commercial routes (roads and railways) caused Afghanistan's commercial relations with the countries of the region and the world to be at a minimal level. Alhamdulillah, with the end of the occupation and the re-establishment of the IEA, efforts have been made to build and develop trade routes with neighboring and regional countries. Recently, officials of the Afghanistan Railway Authority were able to create a new economic corridor between Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and China. With the establishment of this economic corridor, the transfer of goods between Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and China will grow, take less time, and cost less. Yesterday, September 22, 2022, the first batch of commercial goods arrived into the country through the newly established economic corridor (railway) between Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and China. The leadership of the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs extends its gratitude to the officials of the railway authorities of the countries involved in this economic corridor and offers their congratulations to all for this outstanding achievement in the field of trade and transit. The Deputy PM for Economic Affairs assures the countrymen that Afghanistan will become the crossroads of the region in the near future, Insha'allah.

Hoping for a self-sufficient Afghanistan!
