The second meeting of Disaster Management Commission conducted

The Disaster Management Commission, chaired by First Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, held its second meeting. This meeting also discussed the problems of the people affected by the recent rain falls. Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar evaluated the work of all the members of the commission and recommended the relevant officials to provide immediate assistance to the affected people with the occurrence of natural calamities. The First Deputy Prime Minister further stressed that serving the people and solving their problems is the priority of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and they will do so with full commitment. Mr. Mullah Beradar Akhund also emphasized the importance of transparency in the distribution of aid in the event of a natural disaster, adding that the relevant ministries and agencies should distribute aid to the victims in a very transparent manner.
Related ministries, organizations, and members of the Disaster Management Commission said that due to the recent rain falls, they had provided assistance to about 3,000 families who were first surveyed and those who were deemed eligible. They received blankets, clothes, food, medicine, and more such necessary items on time.
