On the 5th of August, the Economic Commission meeting was held at Marmarin Palace, led by the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund. The meeting covered various topics according to the agenda. After a thorough discussion, the proposal to establish Afghanistan's National Economic Advisory Board received approval, considering inputs from the member ministries of the Economic Commission. This advisory board, consisting of professors from Afghanistan's universities, economists, as well as representatives from the business and industrial sectors, will provide essential guidance to the government on critical economic matters when required. During the meeting, the responsibility was assigned to a committee comprising representatives from the Ministries of Industry and Commerce, Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, and Public Health, along with Kabul Municipality, under the Academy of Sciences' leadership. Their task is to prepare a guide for slaughterhouses adhering to Sharia principles and submit it for approval to the Central Verdict Council. Upon approval, the Academy of Sciences will inform chicken slaughter companies in all provinces about the guidelines, and the consumer support committee will oversee the implementation process. Furthermore, two projects worth 414 million Afghanis under partnership contracts for Kabul Municipality were provisionally approved in the meeting. The task of reviewing these contracts from a Shari'a perspective and sharing findings with the Economic Commission was entrusted to Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum, Sheikh Shahabuddin Delawar, Acting Minister of Urban Development and Housing, Maulvi Hamdullah Nomani, and representatives of Kabul Municipality. At the end of the meeting, the committee, headed by the Acting Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, and consisting of a representative from the Deputy PM Minister for Economic Affairs Office, as well as officials from the Ministries of Industry and Commerce and Economy, was tasked with visiting the forests in Khost, Paktia, Paktika, and Logar provinces. Their objective is to observe the process of transferring firewood to other provinces. The committee is expected to present their findings and report at the next Economic Commission meeting, taking into account the opinions of provincial officials from the mentioned regions.
