Under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the National Procurement Commission has sanctioned contracts for 12 projects valued at approximately five billion Afghanis, along with modifications to three additional projects. During the regular session of the National Procurement Commission, held on July 7, 2024, at Marmarin Palace, 22 projects were tabled for deliberation. Out of these, contracts for 12 projects received approval, three were amended, and a committee was tasked with conducting a comprehensive review of the contracts for seven projects, subsequently presenting their findings to the commission's leadership. The sanctioned and amended projects encompass the construction of health centers in remote regions across various provinces, asphalting the second section of the Badghis-Faryab highway, constructing retaining walls along the route, and installing insulators at the Noor-ul-Jihad substation in Herat. These initiatives, along with several other projects, are financed by the Islamic Emirate.
