The beggar collection committee has collected 6900 beggars until September 17, 2022

The beggar collection committee, led by the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Hajji Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, has collected 6900 beggars from different areas of Kabul city until September 17, 2022.

4617 of the beggars that were collected were female, and after evaluation, 1231 of them were determined to be deserving, while 3386 others were found to be professional beggars. After evaluation, 164 of the 579 males were found to be deserving, and 415 of them were professional beggars. 1704 of them are children, of which 911 are deserving and 754 are professional beggars.

Among the deserving beggar children, there are 39 unaccompanied children. After the biometrics, unaccompanied beggar children are admitted to the care and training center by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, and there they are provided with livelihood and education.

The Afghan Red Crescent Society has begun distributing cash to deserving beggars, and hundreds of people have benefited so far.
