Procurement Commission Approves 13 Projects Worth Around AFN 1.3 Billion

The regular meeting of the Procurement Commission, chaired by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, was held today, Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the Marmarin Palace. In accordance with the agenda, 34 projects were presented to the meeting for approval.
Following discussions, 13 projects worth AFN 1.3 billion were approved, while a number of amendments to 16 projects were also approved. In addition, the contract for one project was terminated, and designated committees were tasked with conducting comprehensive assessments of the procurement processes and prices of four projects and submitting their reports to the leadership of the Procurement Commission.
The approved and amended projects include the construction of a hospital in Jani Khel District of Paktia Province, the provision of telecommunications services in several provinces, electricity distribution and transmission projects, as well as the construction of several internal roads in Kabul City and the completion of their remaining works.
The approved projects are funded by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
