In the presence of Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, a pivotal agreement was formalized between Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat and Afghan Invest Private Company. This accord pertains to the completion of the outstanding tasks related to the Shabarghan-Dasht Alwan 500 KV power line and the developmental initiatives at the Dasht Alwan substation. Emphasizing the significance of the industry for economic growth, Mullah Baradar Akhund articulated during the ceremony that countries emerging from conflicts and achieving rapid economic advancement attribute their success to industrial development. Acknowledging the strides made in the industrial sector since the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, he underscored ongoing efforts to create a conducive environment for industrial growth, with electricity being a paramount factor. Mullah Baradar Akhund highlighted the impact of the Shabarghan-Dasht Alwan electricity project. Beyond bolstering the country's industrial landscape, this initiative is poised to transfer hundreds of megawatts of electricity to Afghanistan, resulting in substantial annual savings amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars. Directing a message to national investors, the Deputy PM affirmed the Islamic Emirate's commitment to providing diverse investment opportunities and expressed full support, urging investors to substantiate their pledges through tangible actions. Concluding the meeting, Mullah Baradar Akhund urged the contractor company to prioritize these projects, ensuring their expeditious completion. Under the terms of the contract, Afghan Invest Company is tasked with finalizing the remaining 23.7 percent of the 500 KV power line from Shabarghan to Dasht Alwan, covering a distance of 305.17 km. Additionally, the contracting company is responsible for concluding the remaining development works at the 500 KV substation in Alwan Desert. The stipulated timeline for the completion of these projects is two years, with a total cost of $36 million. Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat will rigorously oversee and evaluate the projects in accordance with established monitoring and evaluation standards. The successful realization of these initiatives will streamline the transmission of cost-effective, high-quality electricity from Turkmenistan to Afghanistan, significantly alleviating the country's electricity shortage.
