With the Ministry of Finance proposal, the one-year tax for all types of shops will be reduced from 1.5 to 0.5 percent

The Economic Commission, headed by Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund, First Deputy Prime Minister, assigned a special committee to evaluate the process of establishing economic zones by the Ministry of Commerce and the management and organization of passenger’s stops and terminals in all provinces by the Ministry of Transport and submit its report to the next meeting of the commission.
The economic zones will be set up in the country's five provinces of Kabul, Kandahar, Herat, Balkh, and Nangarhar, which will increase Afghanistan's exports by 30 percent annually and provide employment to nearly two million people.
Also, according to the decision of the Commission, the issue of the purchasing 60 generators belonging to the National Statistics and Information Authority was postponed till the approval of the budget for the fiscal year 1401 AH. The National Statistics and Information Authority purchases these generators for the needs of its central agencies in the provinces.
The Economic Commission headed by the First Deputy Prime Minister deemed applicable the proposal by the Ministry of Finance to reduce the one-year tax for all types of shops, and it was decided that after that a decision would be taken based on the results. Earlier, due to the increase in tax, certain shopkeepers complained that they could not pay the tax at that higher level.
