Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, took part in and delivered a speech at the inaugural event marking the commencement of construction for the second segment of the initial phase within the New Kabul project. During his address at the ceremony, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund highlighted the unwavering commitment of the Islamic Emirate's leadership to enhance Afghanistan's competitiveness vis-à-vis its counterparts. He emphasized that their relentless efforts, exemplified by the initiation of this project, serve as a commendable testament to this commitment. The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs further elaborated that the New Kabul initiative stands as a pivotal national endeavor, fostering collaboration between the private sector and the Islamic Emirate on a national scale. This collaborative venture, he noted, presents a favorable investment prospect for both domestic and foreign investors. Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund also accentuated that the New Kabul project boasts comprehensive residential facilities. Upon its completion, the transition of the population from the current Kabul city to the New Kabul will commence, promising a reduction in urban congestion and traffic incidents. Spanning an expansive 370,000 jeribs, the New Kabul project is one and a half times larger than the current Kabul city. Designed in four sequential phases, the initial phase has been subdivided into five parcels, with the commencement of construction for the second parcel being marked on this occasion. Encompassing 740 jeribs of land, this parcel will house the construction of 2,300 residential units, accommodating approximately 12,000 individuals. A private construction company is actively engaged in executing the second parcel of the initial phase within the New Kabul project. This significant endeavor is being closely overseen by the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing. This initiative will generate direct and indirect employment opportunities for thousands of individuals.
