Today, First Deputy Prime Minister Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar Akhund met with Sultan Masood Daqiq, an Afghan expert on humanitarian and development projects, in his office. The First Deputy Prime Minister praised Mr. Daqiq's visit to Afghanistan and added that the conditions for investment in Afghanistan are now favorable and the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is open to any kind of cooperation with investors.

Sultan Masood Daqiq, who has specialized experience and skills in implementation of humanitarian and development projects, says he is ready to work in Afghanistan on humanitarian relief, health, power generation, and mining with his professional and technical team. Prior to this, he implemented major development projects for Germany and the European Union in Africa, and many middle-east countries.

"I am happy to see that after decades of war, security is improved in the country, and Afghanistan is in the hand of its’ real owners." he said. He further added that under previous governments, no one was willing to work in Afghanistan. Mr. Daqiq said, at that time, corruption was rampant in Afghanistan and everything had turned out to be a sham.

Mr. Sultan Masood Daqiq, during his talks with the First Deputy Prime Minister, added that he is now keen to work with his team to ensure that basic services in Afghanistan are well received, especially in remote areas which are out of reach.

The First Deputy Prime Minister, Mullah Abdul Ghani Beradar, assured Sultan Masood Daqiq of full cooperation and full security, adding that the Islamic Emirate is working hard for Afghanistan's self-sufficiency.

Sultan Masood Daqiq, who is originally from Kandahar province, has just returned from a 38-year exile.
